1. Get an Initial Review of the Internship

• Copy the link to the internship posting and paste it into your first message with the prompt: “Describe the ideal candidate for this position in three simple sentences.”

2. Break It Down

• To get a better sense of what the organization is really looking for in a candidate, ask: “What are 5 key phrases and buzzwords I should include in my resume to be a strong candidate for this internship?”

3. Share Your Resume for Feedback

• Attach a copy of your resume, and ask: “Compare my resume to this position and give me 3 specific changes I can make to be a stronger candidate for this internship.”

4. Get an Overall Evaluation

• Ask for a quick summary to walk away with some easy-to-process action items: “In summary, am I a competitive candidate for this internship?”
